Privacy Policy
Effective 29 October 2026
What's Your Rashi? (whatsyourraashi.com, "we", "us") makes Vedic birth charts, readings and kundli matching. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and the rights you have, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary for the data described here.
What we collect
- Birth details you enter: name, date, time and place of birth, and the place's coordinates and timezone. We need these to calculate a chart. You can also enter details for another person (for example, for matching).
- Your Google account basics, only if you sign in: your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We ask Google for nothing else: no contacts, no Gmail, no Drive.
- Saved kundlis: the birth details you choose to save to your account.
- Ask AI questions you type about your chart, and how many free and paid questions your account has used.
- Purchase records if you buy a question pack: the pack, amount, date and Razorpay order and payment IDs. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and never reach us.
- Technical data: sign-in session cookies, and standard server logs from our hosting provider (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) kept for security and troubleshooting. Cities you search are remembered in your own browser's local storage to speed up the next search. That stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
To count visitors and see which pages are used, we use Vercel Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites, and it reports only aggregated numbers to us (such as page views, country, browser and the site you came from), not who you are. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell personal data.
How we use it
- To calculate and show your chart, readings, current period and matching results.
- To sign you in and keep the kundlis you save available to you, and only you.
- To answer Ask AI questions from your chart, and to keep track of your free and paid questions.
- To process question-pack purchases and refunds.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and respond to your requests.
If you don't save a kundli, its birth details are used only to calculate the chart for that request and are not stored in our database.
Consent
We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give by entering details, saving a kundli or signing in. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your saved kundlis, signing out, or asking us to delete your account (see below). Withdrawing consent doesn't affect processing that already happened.
If you enter or save another person's birth details, please make sure they are happy for you to do so.
Google user data
When you sign in with Google we receive only your basic profile (name, email, profile picture and account ID), and use it only to create and identify your account. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it except with the service providers below that run the site for us. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers (Data Processors), who process data only on our instructions:
- Supabase: sign-in and the database that stores accounts and saved kundlis.
- Vercel: hosts the website, runs the chart calculations and provides cookie-free visitor statistics.
- Google: provides "Sign in with Google".
- Razorpay: processes question-pack payments. It receives your payment details and, to prefill checkout, your name and email.
- OpenAI: generates Ask AI answers. It receives your question and a summary of your chart's placements and periods, but not your name or email.
These providers may process data on servers outside India. We may also disclose data if required by law.
If you tap a WhatsApp booking button, WhatsApp opens with a pre-filled message containing your name, birth details and current period. Nothing is sent unless you send that message yourself, and once sent it is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Saved kundlis stay until you delete them on the My Kundlis page, or until your account is deleted.
- Your account stays until you ask us to delete it.
- Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion.
- Hosting logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider and then deleted.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act and other applicable law, you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we've shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to erase it, including deleting your account;
- withdraw your consent;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in the event of death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with us, and if you're not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
You can delete saved kundlis yourself on the My Kundlis page. For anything else, email support@whatsyourraashi.com from the address you sign in with. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
The service is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use it only with the verifiable consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. If we learn we hold a child's data without such consent, we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Saved kundlis are protected by database rules that let each account read only its own records. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users before it takes effect.
Contact and grievances
For questions, requests or grievances about your data, contact us at support@whatsyourraashi.com.
